This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) describes the practices of Chicago Parking Meters, LLC (collectively, “ParkChicago,” or “we,” or “us,” or “our”) with respect to the collection and use of your personal information in connection with:
The ParkChicago® mobile application;
ParkChicago® Fleet accounts;
ParkChicago® Map;
CPM permit application and management services;
Our websites, including parkchicago.com, chicagoparking.ppprk.com, parkchicagofleet.ppprk.com, and cpmpermits.com; and
Related offline interactions, such as when you access or use our mobile pay stations (collectively, the “Services”).
By using our Services or otherwise interacting with us, you agree to the applicable Terms of Use governing the relevant Service you use, including this Privacy Policy. Different Services may be subject to different or supplemental Terms of Use.
The specific features and functionality of the Services may vary depending on how you interact with us (for example, as an individual parking user, a fleet account user, a permit applicant, or a website visitor). As a result, certain data practices described in this Privacy Policy may apply only to particular Services.
This Privacy Policy does not cover the personal information we collect about employees and independent contractors or job applicants.
Notice at Collection: Personal Information We Collect
Across the Services, we collect the following categories of personal information, and we have collected the same categories of personal information in the 12 months prior to the date of this Privacy Policy:
Personal identifiers: Name, email address, telephone numbers, your mailing or billing address including your zip code, IP address, account number or user id, your license plate number, your vehicle name, your account pin number, parking session identifiers, account username and password, and any personal information contained in customer reviews, feedback, complaints, or inquiries; we may also collect identifiers associated with permit applications, including residency information and related documentation where required for permit issuance or administration.
Commercial and financial information: Records of products or services ordered or considered; other purchasing or consuming histories; your vehicle and parking location information; permit applications; account balances; and payment information via our third- party service providers who process payment transactions on our behalf. This may include records of parking sessions, transaction histories, and permit-related payments.
Internet or other electronic activity information: Your device and browser type, your operating system and other device-related information, including your device’s hardware, your browsing and search history on our Services (such as parking location searches), and information regarding your interactions with our Services and advertisements. This may include how you use features within the Services, such as map searches, parking lookups, and interactions with application functionality.
Professional information (applicable only to ParkChicago Fleet users): Company email address and information about your company or employer, including company or employer name. For Fleet users, this may include information associated with your employer or organization and your use of Services in that capacity.
Audio, visual information: Customer service call recordings and customer service email correspondence for quality assurance and training purposes.
Location information: If you enable location services, we may collect precise geolocation information to provide location-based features, such as identifying nearby parking availability or map-based functionality.
We collect these categories of personal information directly from our customers, website users, and representatives of entities with which we do business or may do business. We also collect personal information from third party service providers and vendors who collect and/or process personal information on our behalf.
Notice at Collection: Purposes for Collection of Personal Information
We collect your personal information to provide our products and services for which you requested; to create and maintain your ParkChicago accounts; to process payment transactions; to contact you from time to time, including sending receipts or push notifications and conducting text verification or reminders regarding your accounts and parking sessions; to provide you with information about our business or your ParkChicago account history, status of your accounts, and account balances; for customer support and customer support training purposes; to deliver advertisements and marketing promotions and offers about our products and services we think may be of interest to you; to respond to your feedback, inquiries, reviews or complaints; to customize your user experience; and to audit and analyze the placement and effectiveness of our advertisements and other marketing efforts on our Services.
We also use your personal information to provide, operate, monitor, and improve our Services; for internal business analysis; to prevent fraud, activities that violate our Terms of Use or other contracts, or that are illegal; to enforce compliance with local and municipal parking laws and regulations, including facilitating parking enforcement, citation issuance, adjudication, permit administration, and related government functions; to submit unclaimed or abandoned property reports with state agencies; and to protect our rights and the rights and safety of our users or others.
For those who interact with us in a commercial capacity, we use your personal information to engage in business transactions, market to, or engage in diligence with the entities you represent.

We retain the categories of personal information we collect for the length of time necessary to provide our products and services, comply with our legal obligations, and to protect our legal rights.
Notice at Collection: Categories of Personal Information We Sell or Share or Use for Targeted Advertising
We do not sell personal information or share it for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising as such terms are defined under applicable data privacy laws.
No Profiling to Facilitate Decisions with Legal or Other Significant Effects
We do not engage in the automated processing of personal information to create profiles about individuals that are used in furtherance of decisions with legal or other similarly significant effects, such as the provision or denial of financial or lending services, housing, insurance, or access to essential goods or services.
Disclosure of Personal Information For Business Purposes in the Past 12 Months
In the 12 months prior to the date of this Privacy Policy, we disclosed the following categories of personal information to our service providers and contractors for a business purpose: (1) Personal identifiers; (2) Commercial and financial information; (3) Internet or other electronic activity information; (4) Professional information (pertaining to only ParkChicago Fleet); and (5) Audio, visual information:
We disclose your personal information for the following business purposes: to create and manage customer accounts and relationships; process payments or refunds; add credit to your mobile wallet account; verify customers’ identities; fulfill orders and transactions; for customer support, quality assurance, and employee training purposes; operate our IT systems and secure our internal systems; to host our Services and assist with other IT-related tasks; for cloud-based storage; prevent fraud and other illegal activities; and to obtain professional advice about legal and accounting matters.
We disclose certain personal information to state agencies to comply with our legal obligations. For example, we disclose your personal information, including license plate number and issuing state, to the City of Chicago for parking enforcement and adjudication purposes, such as issuing and enforcing parking tickets. We also disclose your personal information, including name, email address, billing zip code, account number, and account balances, for dormant or inactive accounts when filing unclaimed or abandoned property reports pursuant to escheatment laws in Illinois and Delaware.
For ParkChicago Fleet users only, if your account is associated with another party (such as your employer), that party will have access to your use of the Services, including the amounts you have paid for parking, the time and location of your parking, and other details regarding your transactions on the Services. This is only the case for ParkChicago Fleet users and not ordinary ParkChicago users.
We also disclose your personal information as required or permitted by law to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process or government request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is legally required or otherwise necessary to protect our rights, property or safety or the rights, property or safety of others, including to law enforcement agencies and judicial and regulatory authorities. We may also disclose your personal information to other persons or entities to help detect and protect against fraud or data security vulnerabilities. And, we may disclose or transfer your personal information in the event of an actual or potential sale, merger, reorganization of our entity or other restructuring.
Our Use of Cookies and Analytics
We may use cookies, pixel tags, web beacons and other similar tracking technologies (“tracking technologies”) to automatically collect information through our Services. Tracking technologies are small data files placed on your computer, tablet, mobile phone, or other devices that record certain pieces of information when you visit our Services. We may use these tracking technologies for essential operational functionality, such as to help identify irregular behavior, prevent fraudulent activity and improve security, as well as making it possible for you to save your preferences and help us understand how you interact with us including tracking new visitors and recognizing past or current customers on our Services.
You may set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. Many web browsers also allow you to block cookies. You can disable cookies from your computer system by following the instructions on your browser or at www.youradchoices.com.
We use Google Analytics to evaluate the use of our Services. Google Analytics uses cookies and other identifiers to collect information, such as how often users visit our Services, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other websites they visited prior to visiting our Services. SMS Consent and Terms and Conditions
Information obtained as part of SMS or text messaging consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates; it will only be shared with service providers that operate our SMS/text messaging service for the purpose of providing that service.
If you have consented to receive text messages from us, you will receive transactional and service-level messages from us, including information surrounding account verification and your ParkChicago account including parking receipts or notifications about your parking sessions. Message rates may apply and messaging frequency may vary. You may opt out of text messages by texting STOP. For additional information, you can text HELP. Personal Information of Minors
Our Services are not directed to minors under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. In the event that we learn that a child under the age of 13 has provided information on our Services, we will immediately delete that information. We do not knowingly sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising the personal information of California residents under age 16 without their consent.
Third Party Websites and Social Media Buttons
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites, including social media buttons that link to social media platforms. This Privacy Policy does not govern how those third parties or social media platforms collect or use personal information and we do not endorse or have control over their practices. The privacy policies and terms of use for those third parties’ websites, mobile applications, or social media platforms govern those companies’ privacy practices. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party websites or platforms.
Storage of Personal Information
Our Services and servers are located in the United States. If you are outside of the U.S., your information may be sent to the United States. By using our Services, and by giving us your personal information, you consent to such transfer. You also understand that the U.S. may not provide you with the same level of protection as the laws of your respective country. Please do not use our Services if you do not agree to the transfer and processing of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy or if it is illegal to do so in your respective country.
Securing Your Personal Information
We implement and maintain reasonable security appropriate to the nature of the personal information that we collect, use, retain, transfer or otherwise process. However, there is no perfect security, and reasonable security is a process that involves risk management rather than risk elimination. Accordingly, it cannot be assumed that the occurrence of any given incident or breach results from our failure to implement and maintain reasonable security. We encourage you to exercise caution when sharing personal information with others.
Do Not Track Signals
The Do Not Track (“DNT”) signal is a privacy preference signal from 2009 that users can set in certain web browsers. We do not respond to or honor DNT signals.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We will review and update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are made, we will update the Privacy Policy and reflect the date of such modification in the “Last Updated” date above. If the changes are material, you will be notified via a notice on our Services.
U.S. State Data Privacy Rights
Consumer Rights Under Comprehensive U.S. State Data Privacy Laws
We provide residents of certain U.S. states with rights pertaining to the personal information we collect about them under their states’ data privacy laws. The rights provided under these laws are similar in many respects, with some differences from state to state, and are subject to all applicable exceptions.
Right to Know: The right to know whether we are processing your personal information.
California’s privacy law gives California residents the right to request the following additional information collected since January 1, 2022: Categories of personal information we have collected about them; categories of sources from which such personal information was collected; categories of personal information that the business sold or disclosed for a business purpose about the consumer; categories of third parties to whom the personal information was sold or disclosed for a business purpose; and the business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling your personal information.
Right to Know Third Party Recipients of Personal Information: The right to know the identities of third parties to which a business has disclosed personal information. This right is provided for Minnesota residents.
Right to Access / Copy: The right to access or request a copy of your personal information.
Right to Delete: The right to request deletion of your personal information that we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions.
Right to Correct: The right to request that we correct inaccuracies in your personal information.
Exercising Your Rights
We will respond to requests from residents of states with data privacy laws that apply to us and will do so with respect to the rights that are provided as of the effective date of each law.

Exercising Your Rights Using Authorized Agents
If you are a California resident and you use an agent to submit any of the aforementioned types of requests, the agent will need to provide us with your signed permission indicating the agent has been authorized to submit the request on your behalf. You will also be required to verify your identity directly with us or confirm with us that you provided the agent with permission to submit the request. Agents can submit requests on behalf of California residents here or by contacting us at parkchicago@lazparking.com.
Please note that this subsection does not apply when an agent is authorized to act on your behalf pursuant to a valid power of attorney. Any such requests will be processed in accordance with state law pertaining to powers of attorney.
Verification of Requests
When you exercise any of the aforementioned rights, we will take steps to verify your identity. We will ask you for at least two pieces of personal information, depending on the nature of the request, and attempt to match those to information that we maintain or collect about you.
If we are unable to verify your identity with the degree of certainty required, we will not be able to respond to the request. We will notify you to explain the basis of the denial.
When We Do Not Act on a Request
In some cases, we may not act on your requests (e.g., if we cannot do so under other laws that apply). When this is the case, we will explain our reasons for not providing you with the information or taking the action (e.g., correcting data) you requested.
Additionally, residents of certain states have the right to appeal our decision by contacting us at parkchicago@lazparking.com or webform within 30 days after your receipt of our decision.
California Shine the Light
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine the Light” law, permits California residents who have an established business relationship with us to annually request information about the personal information disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not and did not make such disclosures.
